  5. My Burns family lives in Arkansas and Illinois. We are related. Thanks to Bonnie Price, I was able to follow my ancestry back to David Burnes. Then I found your blog. I have a few stories and some pictures on my website. I haven't added this new information yet, but will soon.

  7. Hi Cousin: Polly Burnes was my great grandmother. She was known as Aunt Polly; this might be a clue to the unknown photo inscribed to 'Aunt Polly'? I am a very amateurish 'geneo' and sure did enjoy your deal on the net. I grew up in the Ozarks and know a good bit of the family of Elliott Van Ranchler Pleake, Jr. and Urnestine Jackson. If I can answer any questions of the Jackson Pleake families, let me know, please. pleaketamm@gmail.com

  9. Hello, Burneses all: I'm trying to reconnect with Sarah Burnes Heiner. I have information on a new exhibit at the Smithsonian that includes an artifact my grandfather salvaged from the Davy Burns Cottage when he tore it down in 1894.

  11. Hi, I just wanted to say how much i appreciate the pictures and identifying the people in the them. Alma Burnes Mcnealy is my 2nd great grandmother. I only have one small headshot picture of her and none of the rest of the Burnes family. I did find my great grandfather ( Alma's son) and Alma in the large family shot of the Samuel Burnes photo. Thank you some much for sharing.
