Unknown Burnes'

Help give a name to these unknown Burnes ancestors!
I received this "Unknown Burnes" CD from Joy Lucht who lives in Helena, Montana. She is a direct descendant of George Washington Burnes & Sarah Walker Burnes; making us distant cousins. We have been corresponding with each other in regards to our line and these photos. We are teaming up together to find an indentity to these photos. Most of these photos were taken in Hope, Indiana and surrounding areas, so finding the names to these faces can be possible. If anyone knows anything in regards to these photos, please leave a comment in the "comment box" below. (You can comment as "anonymous" if you don't have a google, wordpress or other account).

Thanks,

Sarah & Joy

The picture of John and Justina Burnes Colee are my sweet Grandparents. I have never seen this picture and I was so pleasantly shocked to see this. Brought tears to my eyes. If you have more photos I would love to see them. I have many old tin types and other old photos that my Grandma gave me but had never seen this one!!!

    2. Yes, Rick and I grew up together. I am the eldest daughter of Mary Ann, the youngest Colee. My maiden name is Sebastian. I was very close to my Grandparents. I have a lot of very old photos that, at one time, Grandma had told me their names. Unfortunately, I was extremely young and I do not remember them. I had never seen the picture above and was so thrilled to see a picture of Grandma and Grandpa in their younger days. Feel free to contact me at tjustice@majorhospital.org for any new pictures or questions you might have. Tina.

  5. Richard, it's great to hear from you. Thank you for contacting me and confirming the photo #13 baby as Maude Colee. I looked into my family tree file and noticed that I have very little information on John & Justina Colee's children: Maude, Mable, Marlene, Mary Ann, George John. I only have their names without any other information about them. Would you email me at sarah@tmgenealogy.com. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

  6. I have heard from my Grandmother (Fannie Rhodes Brice) that we are descendents of Robert Burns. My Grandfather is Robert Burns Brice. Have you come across any Brices? My grandparents were born in 1880's Dakota and Minnesota. I would love to learn more.
